It was a privilege to participate as a panelist at the ELASIA conference, organized by the Electrical Consultants’ Association of India (ECAI), on the topic:
“Role of Electrical Consultants in the Present-Day Circumstances as Compared to a Few Years Ago.”

I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with an esteemed panel:
Mr. Gautam, Pan India Head, MEP Design, CBRE
Mr. Indrajit Kembhavi, Managing Partner, Kembhavi Architecture Foundation – India
Mr. A.N.PRAKASH Prakash, Managing Director, AN Prakash Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd.( ANPCPMC )

The session was expertly moderated by Mr. B. R. V. Murthy, whose insightful questions made for a lively and thought-provoking discussion.
One of the key takeaways from the conversation was that the role of electrical consultants has evolved significantly.

Today, our responsibilities extend far beyond designing safe and reliable electrical systems. We are expected to contribute towards energy efficiency, sustainability, decarbonization, resilience, digital infrastructure, renewable energy integration, smart buildings, and creating future-ready developments that deliver long-term value to clients.

As the built environment continues to evolve, the collaboration between architects, MEP consultants, project managers, and developers has become more important than ever. It was enriching to hear diverse perspectives from fellow panelists and exchange ideas on how our profession is adapting to these changing expectations.

My sincere thanks to the Electrical Consultants’ Association of India (ECAI) for the invitation and for organizing such a meaningful platform for industry dialogue. Looking forward to many more discussions that help shape the future of our profession.
