CESC has been powering Kolkata and Howrah for well over a century, continuously demonstrating leadership in delivering reliable energy infrastructure. The Kasba Receiving Station is a critical part of this network, supporting the transmission and distribution of electricity while embracing sustainable operational excellence.
As the sustainability consultant for this project, Conserve Consultants worked closely with the CESC team to provide end-to-end guidance from conducting a comprehensive LEED gap assessment to implementing sustainability policies, strengthening waste management practices, enhancing indoor environmental quality, and establishing effective recycling systems.
Some of the project’s key sustainability achievements include:
42%+ improvement in energy performance
54%+ improvement in water performance
87% of building waste diverted from landfill/incineration
Enhanced indoor air quality through improved fresh air ventilation for occupant well-being.
