Heritage Meets Sustainability at The Bengal Rowing Club, Kolkata!
Established in 1929, The Bengal Rowing Club (BRC) stands as one of India’s oldest and most prestigious rowing institutions a landmark blending sportsmanship, culture, and community spirit. Over the decades, BRC has evolved into a hub for recreation, rowing excellence, and social engagement in the heart of Kolkata.
Recently, BRC achieved the LEED v4.1 O+M Certification at the Platinum level with an outstanding 87 points, marking a major milestone in their sustainability journey.
This achievement would not have been possible without the support of Mr. @Munish Jhajharia, President, Mr. Joydeb Banerjee, Senior Manager, and the entire BRC operations team.
One of the primary concerns identified during the certification process was improper waste segregation at source, caused by unclear labeling and bin placement, leading to mixed waste and reduced potential for recycling.
